Alessandro Mazzalai started his journey into autonomous driving in 2014. Since then, he has been exploiting new solutions, some of them based on cognitive science and robotics, for developing advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving systems.
He has contributed to several National (eg, e2Call) and European (eg, FP7 AdaptIVe, H2020 Autopilot, H2020 C-ROADS) research projects regarding ADAS, autonomous driving, and telematics services.
Currently he is working as Motion Planning Team Lead and Product Owner in the development of the STLA AutoDrive Tech platform for autonomous driving level 2, 2+, and 3. He is responsible for defining the goals and the requirements, and coordinating several steps of the development process flow: development and implementation of new algorithms, testing via simulation environment, and in-vehicle testing.
