GM’s SuperCruise is the industry’s first hands-free driving technology for the highway. By seamlessly integrating real-time cameras, radars, high-precision GPS, and LiDAR map data, this innovative system enables safe and reliable hands-free operation while continuously monitoring the driver’s attentiveness through a driver-facing camera. Super Cruise goes beyond conventional ADAS functions by offering a comprehensive 360-degree perspective of the vehicle’s surroundings re-enforced by a high-definition map. This allows Super Cruise to navigate through complex traffic scenarios and execute automatic lane changes with precision. Moreover, the system utilizes data connectivity to receive periodic map updates and over-the-air functional enhancements, ensuring it remains up-to-date and continuously improving. One of Super Cruise’s standout features is its pioneering hands-free trailering experience, a first in the industry. This capability further demonstrates the system’s versatility and ability to adapt to various driving scenarios, providing an enhanced and convenient driving experience.
