Volker Hartmann

Head of Quality ADAS/AD, Volkswagen

Volker has 12+ years of professional experience as an in-house lawyer in the automotive and software industries. After various positions in the legal department of AUDI AG, including as Head of Legal Automated and Connected Driving, Volker took on the role of Head of Legal Autonomous Driving at Daimler AG in July 2017, before moving to Autonomous Intelligent Driving GmbH in Munich in November 2018. There he was Head of Legal / General Counsel and, as PMO lead, was responsible for the business integration of AID into Argo AI LLC. Since September 2020, Volker, as Head of Quality ADAS / AD at the Volkswagen Car Software Organization, is responsible for quality management and quality assurance in the context of the development of ADAS / AD technology. In addition, he practices as a resident attorney with a focus on technology law, product compliance and legal advice on robotics / AI.
