Dr. Wolfgang Koppe received the Diploma degree in geographical information science and remote sensing from the University of Jena, Germany in 2004. After he was a Researcher at the University of Cologne, Germany, from 2005 to 2007 in hyperspectral and SAR image processing, where he also received his PhD. His research focused on the synergism of hyperspectral and microwave remote sensing for environmental monitoring and modelling. Since 2007 he is working at Airbus Defence and Space as Application Development Manager for radar remote sensing and 3D modelling. The main fields of work are currently design and development of SAR image and 3D services, providing geo-information solutions for avionic and autonomous driving usage and integration of value added products into the commercial TerraSAR-X ground segment. For 3D applications, the expertise focusses on SAR based DEM modelling by stereo and interferometric methods as well as DEM derived layers and services.
Furthermore, teaching activities includes university lectures and customer training on geo-information with special focus on microwave remote sensing. He is author of several publications in scientific journals and conference proceedings.
